Transparent text effect

November 12, 2007

Create a new document having dimensions equal with the image we want for the background. Now open the image you want to use for the background. Hit Ctrl+A and using Move Tool position the image in the document’s Layer 1.

Select Type Tool and write something. If necessary use Move Tool for positioning. Now go to Filter -> Stylize -> Emboss and use the values: Angle:135, Height:3 pixels and Amount 100%.

Now, select the layer with text and change the Blending Mode to Hard Light. This is a simple effect once you learn the tricks. This is the final effect.
